On April 3, the Texas Gulf Coast Community College Consortium, a partnership of nine community colleges in the Gulf Coast region, will host an industry conference for high school girls to learn about careers in engineering, science and technology, according to a Feb. 7 news release.
The gist
Now in its seventh year, the Women In Industry Conference hopes this year to attract more than 1,100 high school girls and women who want to learn about careers in petrochemical, construction, avionics, biotech and IT industries, according to the release.
In addition to morning and lunch keynote sessions led by ExxonMobil and engineering consulting firm Worley, the conference includes breakout sessions from 9:15 a.m. to 12:20 p.m, according to the news release.
